You Don’t Need Better Taste. You Need a Process.
There’s a moment in every project where it hits: This is a lot of decisions.
Furniture, layouts, lighting, tile, cabinetry, paint, hardware… and somehow all of it is supposed to come together into a home that feels effortless, cohesive, and entirely like you. That’s the part no one really talks about.
Because the truth is, most people don’t struggle with taste. They struggle with sequence. With knowing what to decide first, what connects to what, and how to make sure nothing gets missed along the way. Design isn’t just about having a good eye. It’s about making hundreds of interconnected decisions in the right order, with the right context, so everything works together.
That’s where we come in! At Wellhouse & Co, our process is built to take that complexity off your plate and turn it into something clear, collaborative, and actually enjoyable. Yes, really.
Here’s a behind the scenes look at how we do it and how to know which level of service is right for you.
1. Full Service Interior Furnishings: The “Walk In and Everything Is Done” Experience
This is the one clients dream about, and for good reason. You leave for the day and come back to a fully finished home. Furniture placed. Art hung. Beds made. Every last detail handled. But what makes that kind of reveal possible isn’t magic. It’s process.
We start by listening (learning about our clients is TRULY one of our favorite things to do). Not just what colors you like, but how you live, what matters to you, what’s working in your current home and what absolutely isn’t. From there, we design everything into one complete, cohesive plan. Layouts, furnishings, lighting, textiles, materials. Not a collection of options. A finished vision. There’s a reason for that.
When you design a piece at time, decision by decision, things start to drift. We’ve all been there! Feeling dissatisfied with our homes, we figure a quick accessories run to Target might solve the issue. But when you step back and re-think the entire space as a whole, you solve the real issues rather than applying a surface level band-aid fix. The home feels intentional from the start. We present that plan as a full reveal, refine where needed, and then handle every step of sourcing, ordering, tracking, and installation.
The result is a home that feels like it came together effortlessly because you didn’t have to carry the weight of every decision. And for us, there’s nothing better than watching a client walk into their finished space for the first time and just pause…that’s the moment we design for!
2. Custom Home + Renovation Design: The Decisions You Can’t Afford to Get Wrong
Building or renovating a home is a different kind of design challenge entirely. Because the decisions you’re making aren’t just aesthetic. They’re structural. Permanent. And often happening long before the house starts to feel real. Floor plans. Electrical. Plumbing. Cabinetry. Materials. Miss something here and it’s not a quick fix later.
That’s why we come in early, working alongside your architect and builder from the very beginning to make sure every interior decision supports a cohesive vision. We don’t approach this as a series of isolated selections. We go in-depth to understand your family, your lifestyle, your pain points and your vision. We call this initial design and discovery, and its the most important step in our process (and also one of our favorites).
Next, we build a full design direction which we review and discuss together. A clear, intentional roadmap that guides every decision that follows. From there, we develop each layer of the home in sequence, presenting it at key milestones (exteriors, kitchen + bar, bathrooms, living spaces) so you can envision each space of your home with all the pieces in place.
It’s structured, but it’s also deeply collaborative. Your vision drives the work. Our job is to shape it, refine it, and lend our expertise and experience to make sure it all works together beautifully - every material, every detail and every decision. Because a well-designed home doesn’t happen at the end of construction… its built with each step of the design process..
3. Consulting Design: When You Just Need the Right Expertise
Not every project needs full service. Sometimes what you really need is clarity. A plan for a room that isn’t working. Guidance on how to furnish your home yourself. A second set of eyes before you commit to something you’re not quite sure about.
That’s where Consulting Design comes in. We approach these projects the same way we approach everything, by listening first. Understanding how you live, what’s not working, and what you want the space to feel like.
Then we give you clear, specific, actionable direction. Not ten options. Not “you could go either way.” A recommendation you can actually move forward with. It’s expert guidance, applied exactly where you need it. We tailor our deliverables to your specific questions - that could mean specific product selections or ideas, technical drawings for renovation plans, kitchen or bath design guidance or simply a tour through your space to make recommendations. Consulting design is a great way to utilize our expertise, while executing the design on your own timetable.
Where It All Comes Together
No matter which service you choose, the goal is the same. To make the process feel considered, not chaotic. We work closely with homeowners, builders, and architects, bringing design leadership to the full project team so every decision serves the vision and every detail is well considered.
We care about the creative side. The materials, the light, the feeling of a space. But equally important is the structure behind it and the execution. Budgets. Timelines. Specifications. The details that make a beautiful design actually happen. Because the best projects aren’t just beautiful. They’re executed well. And the most amazing designs can fall flat with poor execution. Choosing the right team to help make a huge difference in your end result!
A cozy family room off the kitchen - great for kids and parents alike.
